Legacy Health System honors KMR founders
The Legacy Health Foundation recognized Kate Jones and Marty Rifkin and their nonprofit, KMR Group Foundation, for their yeas of support to the Salmon Creek Child Abuse Assessment Team by naming them Spirit Award winners.
The philanthropic arm of the Legacy Health System recognizes key donors at each of its hospitals with this annual award.
Jones and Rifkin have been involved with Legacy Salmon Creek’s Child Abuse Assessment Team since its inception in 2009. In the fall of 2015, Jones and Rifkin through their foundation issued a $250,000 challenge grant to build a new 3,450-square-foot pediatric services center.
The Legacy Salmon Creek foundation team made it a priority to meet that challenge and by April 2016 had raised the final $100,000 needed for the project.
The pediatric service center will feature a large gym and track, an obstacle course, sensory gym, observation and treatment rooms and a large waiting room to replace the cramped space currently being used.
