YWCA – Clark County

KMR Group Foundation is proud to provide grant funding for the YWCA of Clark County’s SafeChoice shelter and programs. The gender inclusive domestic violence shelter provides emergency housing for those fleeing physical, emotional and verbal abuse.

Clients are allowed to stay up to 60 days at the secure location. Children and families staying at the shelter have access to the Children’s Advocacy Program, which assists families in dealing with the effects of domestic violence.

One-on-one advocacy sessions are available to provide information, support and educational resources. Legal advocacy sessions can help clients complete protection orders and staff members can accompany clients to court to help guide them through the system.

The SafeChoice programs also include support groups and domestic violence classes. The support groups are free and offer weekly drop-in for people experiencing verbal, emotional, sexual or physical abuse. The domestic violence classes are eight-week sessions and a fee waiver is available. Childcare is offered to attendees of both programs.

The YWCA of Clark County is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.
