A Year of Community Impact: KMR Group Foundation’s 2024 Recap

KMR Group Foundation 2024 Recap

Throughout 2024, the KMR Group Foundation partnered with remarkable organizations and individuals to create meaningful change in the community. Each initiative reflects our enduring commitment to fostering equal access to healthcare, food, safety, and education.

Empowering Through Equal Access to Education

Our 2024 scholarship recipients celebrated their high school graduations and began their college journeys at Clark College, marking new chapters in their higher education paths. Our co-founder Marty Rifkin further championed educational excellence by delivering the University of Tampa’s 2024 commencement address, where he shared insights from his entrepreneurial journey and emphasized the vital roles of perseverance and dedication.

Supporting Community Needs Through Essential Resources

Our Essential Pack Program continues to evolve to meet our growing community’s needs. Through seasonal distribution events, we provide full-size necessities such as shampoo and soap, items particularly valued by recipients. Summer distributions at Share Vancouver, St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, and St. Vincent de Paul deliver seasonal supplies, while winter events focus on cold-weather necessities. These collaborative efforts reach nearly 1,000 individuals each season, supporting close to 2,000 community members throughout the year.

Standing Together Globally

Our foundation’s reach extends beyond local borders as we maintain steadfast support for orphans in Ukraine, ensuring children around the world experience moments of childhood joy and normalcy. This ongoing initiative exemplifies our belief in supporting children’s well-being regardless of borders.

Advancing Healthcare Access

Our partnership with RCCS (Rofeh Cholim Cancer Society) demonstrates the profound impact of community support in healthcare. Through vital services like health insurance coverage, insurance advocacy, and care management, RCCS empowers individuals to focus on healing and celebrating life’s victories. In 2024, this collaboration helped RCCS pay for 102 utility bills, 131 rent payments, 206 mortgages, and 91 grocery bills, ensuring families could focus on what matters most—recovery and healing.

Nourishing Our Community

Collaboration with FISH (Friends in Service to Humanity) continues to expand, as we fund a full-time position for their mobile food pantry. This initiative brings reliable access to nutritious food directly to local families, including residents of nursing homes, ensuring our most vulnerable neighbors receive the nourishment they need.

Year-Round Community Support

Throughout the year, our community initiatives create lasting impact. The Giving Closet’s back-to-school bash provided crucial resources for families preparing for the academic year. As winter approached, we provided 109 coats to Snowcap Community Charities and joined their Holiday Heroes event, bringing warmth and joy to our neighbors.

These achievements reflect the power of community collaboration and the dedication of countless individuals working toward common goals. As we step into 2025, we carry forward the lessons and inspiration from each partnership, ready to continue building stronger, more resilient communities together.
